77 Low Oil Pressure

Well I finally got the 77 running after a rebuild. Problem is I have around 4 lbs of pressure at an idle hot, checked with a guage. I pulled the pump and had it gone over as well as double checked the vane direction. When I rebuilt it I had the block dipped and the guy pulled all the plugs out of the oil galleries and gave them back to me in a cardboard box. I had none left over but that doesn't mean I wasn't missing one. Before I pull the timing cover and look for a missing plug, is there anything else easy to check? Did they have an orifice in the filter head? This one has been converted to a spin on filter.

First thing to check for the restrictor in the filter. If that does not do it pull the pan and put a bearing leak detector (home made ones work fine) and see where your leak is. More questions? You said spin on filter? All 77 tractors had spin on filters except the military tractors. Do you have a cat iron or aluminum filter base? J.

Yes! I'm glad to hear they have a restrictor in the filter. It has an aluminum base which I took apart. Can you describe what it looks like and where it's located?
