1755 hydraulic vibration

my 17 has developed quite a vibration in the hydraulic system. The fluid and filter are new. At the remote, I get 2000 psi without a problem. I attached a gauge to the bottom of the three way valve body and the needle on the gauge swings violently. Turning in the plug on the compensator valve seems to slow down the needle but it is far from steady. The springs in the compensator and priority valves look OK. What should I check next?

if it was good before the change of fluid, check the fluid. Sounds like air in the system..

A new filter and topping off the oil level is something I do as a starting point when working on a problem like this. When draining the system, it seems like the oil runs quite fast from the reservoir.
