Can someone please tell me what year my 525 I just bought is.

   First digit in the serial number indicates production year sequence.   Thus your machine was built in the fifth year of production.   First year of production was 1965

I thought 64 was the first year? But if 65 is then it would be a 69 model?

My first combine was a 1964 525, the rear axle had the pivot pin welded to a bracket on the axle tube, the 65's had the pivot pin fastened to the
combine and pivoted on the big pin and pipe welded in the axle tube. We broke the pivot pin 2-3 times on the 1964, dad had a '66 model and
never broke it.

Ok thanks I was wondering which year they changed back axles. Because my 64 has the small back axle but the new 68 has the big one
