Seems to me I've heard that a Cockshutt 35 and the Cockshutt 40 have the same tub frame and rear end, and that a Hercules DD298 will bolt into the frame of a 50 and a 40. So will the DD298 also bolt into a 35?

Ive seen some 298 and 339 engines in a r0.
Not all of the tubs had the extra mount
holes. I have an older 40 and had a late
model 50 and neither had the holes for a
Hercules engine

35 is similar to the newer 550 same engine (hercules go-198 or dd 198) rearend and not sure what else never was around the 10 series cockshutts too much. as far as a 298 idk seems a stretch but maybe. also 40's had a buda so not sure that would work with putting a herc. in there?

the 40, 50, 560 and 570 all have the same rear mount bolt spacing so Herc engines will go into a 40-50 and Buda engines will
go into a 560-570. The 35 has the engine mounted further forward because it is 4 cyl engine in a 6 cyl tub. Some 35's had both
sets of bolt holes and some only had the forward holes.

I have a 40 with a Hercules in it, used the 35 engine plate it is not
quite a bolt in application you have to do a little modifying. Not
sure about the 35 tube but I know guys have done it, mine has both
sets of holes.
