How does an 1850 compare to a 1655?

I have a 1655 diesel with canopy. It's my favorite tractor and gets the most hours put on it every year. I have an 1855 that I use when I need the power, but don't like it near as well as the 16. Would a late 1850 with 3 speed be comparable to my 1655 but with 95-100 hp? I prefer the dash and seating position of the 1655.

I never had a 1655,but it's hard to beat the Perkins in the 1850. Hydraulics and everything would be pretty much the same. More room on the platform. Dash doesn't knock you in the knee like the 1855 does.

I enjoy my 1850, I make a machine give me what it can. I'll probably keep getting something newer till I die. Seems you already have what you're asking about, get something newer. I'll stay green.

I am curious about your not liking the 1855 as well as a 50 series tractor. The power steering, brakes, PTO operation, and hydraulics are all superior to the 50 series. Having said that we really like our 1850 and would by another one in a minute if we had the money at the time one became available. The 1650/55 is a great tractor, but an 1850 is more tractor by a fair margin.
