I have a 1850 oliver and is leaking fluid by the PTO shaft Is there a seal just inside the shaft just beneath the snap ring

O-ring 1/8 X 3-1/8 ID between the bearing and the housing. If the leak looks like it's coming out the bottom from behind the big snap ring, I'd start there first.

Like Mr. Poindexter said there is an o-ring inside where the bearing sets for the pto shaft but if the seal inside the pto housing is holding that cavity should be dry. If not the oil will more then likely seep through the seal in the bearing. To replace that seal you have to remove the pto housing and replace it from the inside.

Manuals are not hard to find. You need a parts break down.

Is there a seal? Is it leaking? There must be a seal. Some seals were bad from the get go and have been replaced by better.

Need the books on it. I think I found mine on Ebay. The Oliver books are very good. I have the book put out by Yamaha for my ATV, the worst service manual I've ever seen and I paid the most for it.
