What size field cultivator?

What size field cultivator would be appropriate for my 2-135? I would like go pretty fast at 5-6in.. I pulled my a 8 shank chisel in a 13 year old hay field 10in deep(pretty hard ground) in 3 over drive and did good, so I think 18 foot field cultivator would ok but want to check. Also what is a normal working depth for cultivating(I assume 4-6 inches)

Thanks

I pull a 20 foot 285 Oliver with mine. I think most of the power it's using is to move the tractor, not to pull the cultivator.

I will sell you a 285 with wings cheap. Depending on how you are using the field cultivator as a primary tillage tool or as tool to level a plowed or "ripped" field.

Not that I would recommend it, but my 2-135 I was pulling a 30' with it, but not pulling anything behind it though such as a packer or basket. In its defense when I put it on the dyno its pushing 195 hp and has been for I know probley 25 years at least, because dad never turned it up and I didn't, and it was like that before he bought it. This year I bought a bigger tractor to pull it though, but it will do it.

That 18-20ft range seems about right. I have a 21ft ih45 that my 115hp deere 4320 can pull, but only at 4.5-5mph and it's a load for it hp and traction wise. The 4430 pulls it much better. Can go 5-6 Mph not working as hard. That put 165hp on the dyno though.
