Oliver 550 Injector Pump

I asked the following in another Oliver forum but received no response. Maybe someone here will know.

New to Oliver Tractors. I just pick up a 1963 Oliver 550 diesel . Needs lots of attention but everything works. Steering and cosmetics are the worst items. Anyway, right now I'm working on the injector pump. It is leaking out of the shaft and a part is missing, it's a spring (see attachment, Picture is not my pump). Can someone give me the part number of the spring and where I can get one. Also, can the average back yard mechanic like me replace the pump shaft seal.

The Stanadyne spring # is 13003. Most pumps I repair have other trouble inside that needs addressed to correct the fuel leaks at the throttle shaft area. If the retainer ring is failing like I suspect it is it's best in the long run to do a complete tear down and repair. If you wait too long the pump will destroy itself and won't be worth fixing. Have already done four this week..
 
You are lucky to have a Roosa pump on your 550. At least
parts are available. The earlier AMBAC pump is difficult to
get the critical parts for.
 
You got that right!! I cringe anymore when any PSB is brought in for repair because the parts are pretty much non existent. Thirty years ago you could get any PSB part you wanted. Whish I had bought some hydraulic heads back then for future use...

I'm not sure if a rebuild is within my capabilities. I guess I'll look around for a place to have it rebuilt.
