In a weak moment, I bought a pair of Oliver backhoes. By appearances, I will say that they are both on 1650 chassis. Both have the serial number plates removed. The wonderful people at the Floyd County museum are searching for info by engine number. At any rate, is there a forum for Oliver construction equipment where I can get more information? Google has not returned much to me so far. The guy I bought them from bought them as a pair, dug the trench he needed and then let them sit in the weeds. There was also a really late model Oliver grain drill in great shape in the weeds, but it was not for sale. Going back I am looking for any info I can get on Oliver backhoes in general, and specifically, history on the pair that I bought. If it helps, the previous owner bought them together somewhere to the east of Oswego, NY.
Mybe I have bitten off more that I can chew, but I will try to preserve a bit of Oliver history.

You should be able to get help here. Is the one operational? The only weak spot is the Reverse-O-torc . Just stay in low when using it and should be fine. Our Case 580 E has similar forward reverser. The Parsons Company also used a 1650 Oliver with their loader and backhoe.

I bought a loader backhoe that used the 1650 Oliver industrial tractor as the power unit. it is a 4-78-15 and the loader and backhoe have there own serial number plates. It is a 1678 loader and a 1615 hoe.
Post a picture of your backhoe.
