1800 power steering

What would cause the snap ring end of the power steering under the radiator to break off and allow the plug and piston to pop out?

Did you turn too short or hit something with the wheels turned? I cracked the end on my 2-135 White one time,but it didn't break the end completely off.

I wasn't driving or there. But it was turned fully to the right and the brakes were on.

If it was the original one the replacement housing is a little heavier. You should also check your linkage and maybe the setting on the Power Steering relief valve.
