2-105 engine value

I'm looking at a running engine out of a 2-105. The seller would like me to make an offer for the engine. I want to start at a reasonable price.

Can anyone give me some insight as to what it might be worth?

I don't know what they're getting anymore,but a few years ago,the bone yards were getting $2000 for those 354 Perkins out of combines.

At least 2000 dollars and maybe over 2500 dollars. The Combine yard near here gets on average 3000 dollars for high demand JD and IH engines. 3500 dollars if the motor is known to have had excellent care or recently rebuilt.
