TSX carb question

I'm trying to get my 1550 carb adjusted. It runs and idles good but the idle mixture screw seems to do nothing. I can turn it all the way in and it still idles and takes three or four turns out before it slows. This is a TSX-610, not the 907 that it's supposed to have. Turning the screw in, does that lean the mixture or richen it?

sounds wore out and isn't seating anymore. You may see a difference trying to start it when it gets cold out. Till then, it runs good, don't worry, be happy. It controls the gas/air mixture but which it;s reducing turned in I can't say except I think it's gas if it's on the motor side and air if it's on the air intake side of the carb.
