88 Rear Axle Bearing

I think I have a bearing going out on the rear axle on my 88. When driving, it makes a noise. I jacked the wheel up and spun the wheel by hand and I don't hear or feel anything unusual, What am I missing? Chris

Chris, make sure the hub U-bolts and the wedges that hold the rim to the cast center are tight.

Hi Chris: Jack it up and let it down quickly. See if the axle has end play when the tire hits the ground. Does the wheel have wheel weights? If so, are they tight? How about the hub U-bolts and have you checked to see is properly secured to the center section. Also remember an 88 an a super 88 take different bearings. J.

Also check the 9 bolts that hold the center to the hub.
