I asked this question some time ago and can't find it in my search. I want to put power steering on my narrow front 770. You fellas suggested Char Lynn. Can you give me some info. concerning this unit and where to purchase---New or Used. Willing to bite the proverbial bullet...............thank you len in michigan

Have you ever dealt with Taylor's over by Sears Michigan? North of Barryton on 66 to 2 Mile road then west a mile and a half or so. Might be worth a try to check with them.

Sometimes they pop up on Ebay. Brian Lagesse(715-579-4070) may have them too. He has posted them on Ebay also. He usually will sell the entire assembly to go right on your tractor. They are not cheap. I have seen complete assemblies(torque generator, cut steering shaft, hoses, double pulley, pump, and mounting brackets) for an Oliver bring up to $800 on Ebay. You can also buy just the torque generator on Ebay and fab your own mounting bracket. But the mounting of the torque generator takes a lot of care on an Oliver. Pumps can be gotten and mounting plates for them are relatively easy. You may have to get a double pulley if your 770 does not have one. Char Lynn literature is a source of good info. Maybe someone can post a manual for mounting power steering on an Oliver for you on this forum.
Good Luck.

surplus center in lincoln neb quite often has char lynn units, they call them torque amplifiers, I have mounted several of these over the years, you can run them off the tractor hydraulics with a flow divider but better to mount an old automotive belt drive power steering pump.
