Hello,Any good advice would be appreciated. I have this Oliver 60 split to replace a trans input shaft, found frt pinion brg rollers missing, no rollers, no cage. So degunged reans and rear end, replaced the pinion brgs with new, got the pinion nut tight as I could get and the pinion still roll smoothly. I set the ring and pinion clearance at about .008 reusing most of the original shims, used the same carrier bearings and not having the drum bolts installed.
After installing the brake drum bolts, all pinion clearance is lost and almost acts like a pos-i-trac. Much resistance now when turning the trans input shaft with rear tires off the ground. What is proper procedure for replacing differential on this tractor? Thanks
