I just got a 1555 gas that seems to be in pretty good working order. The only problem I have found is that the two speed lever is stuck. It is in direct drive. How do I loosen it up to see if it works? Do I pry on it or take it apart? I think it just wasn't used for so long that it got stuck.

I wouldn't pry too hard. There is two cast iron pivots in there.

There is a turnbuckle on a pivot pin below the dash basically inside of where the brake pedals are mounted. I am guessing that is stuck and you will have to free it up.

If you take the linkage loose from the arm on the hydrapower it should click back and forth. If it doesn't then the problem is there. It's a really simple linkage.
