J Schwiebert -it is fixed

Enjoyed talking to you today.

Started tracing flow and it was good until it go to the "out" from the fuel pump. took the top off the fuel pump and oh my it was full of junk. When I cleaned the fuel tank I replaced all
the lines but never thought to look into the fuel pump. Clean it all out and reinstalled and it runs like a watch. Now on to the leak in the steering!

Thanks again for your advice and time!

let that be a lesson, doesn't matter if it's an old lawn mower or a tractor, things that get gas from a container are prone to sediment blockage. Add into that things that sit for long periods and gas goes bad.

It doesn't sound fixed, just running. Obviously there is a filter problem and I'd still replace the fuel pump. Make sure you get the pump for a gas engine, sounds like a simple matter, but it isn't and not easy to find, Most are for diesel even the ones people will sell you after asking for gas.

A person could pick up several lawn mowers people threw out because they wouldn't start. They'd left them sit all winter with gas. Dump the gas, clean out the debris, fresh gas and mow on.
