resrtictor valve seal nuts

Got everything back together and filled the hydraulic yesterday. I haven't checked the pressure yet but steering and lift work much better. The sealing nuts on the restrictor valves were leaking even before I cycled the remotes. Today I tried copper washers under the nuts. Stopped that leak but fluid came through the threads under pressure. Are those nuts available anywhere?

You still have the old style nuts. The new style have a blind threaded hole and use a copper crush washer. You could make a set out of hex bar stock.

Thanks, John. Now I remember reading something about that in the manual. They looked OK when I cleaned them up but the plastic insert must be shot. By the way, that pump seems to be working well with the new seal kit. I was keeping my fingers crossed. The snap ring and groove on the idler shaft were worn so the gear had 3/32 of end play. I repaired that, too.

Just go to the hardware store and get some nylon insert lock nuts. Seems like those have to be replaced after just a few times adjusting them. I've never been able to find copper crush washers, but brass will work.

Randy, the copper washers sealed the face but they still leak past the threads. I'm going to get some 3/8 coupling nuts and cut them to length then plug the end with a loctited set screw.

Ya,do whatever you feel comfortable with. Just a 3/8ths nylon insert locknut will seal the threads, but like I said, once you disturb them, they'll leak again,so your way might work out best.
