I have a wide front off a 770 that I want to move. Will it fit the 77-88-880 regulars and supers????

Lost the phone number for Big Marv in a computer break down.

Thanks for any help. len in michigan

It'll fit all those,ya. It's better if it doesn't have factory power steering. I traded for one off a 770 one time and put it on a 77. That one had power steering with the pump on the generator. The guy kind of skinned me on the trade for my narrow front because the pump was shot. I put it on anyway without hooking up the pump and it wandered all over the place.

I've got Ron's number here somewhere. If he doesn't see this and contact you,I'll try to find it when I get more time and I'll email it to you.

Hi Len

That manual steering widefront will fit the 77, Super 77, 770, 88, Super 88, and 880. It will only fit the manual steering models. The Gemmer P.S, and later all hydraulic power steering used a different axle carrier. If you have the manual steering widefront with the gearbox on it, then it will only fit a manual steering tractor. If you have a Charlynn add-on P.S system, then that is also the widefront you would use. You can call me at two-3-one six-89-1 zero one 5

PS::: I have seen 66-style tractors with that bigger widefront. It will bolt up underneath, but I haven't ever talked to an owner of one, to see how it worked for them.

Hey Ron,did you go to the sale Saturday that had that 1600 and that model 18 combine on it? Louis was just here wondering if I went. Wanted to know what the combine brought.

It seems that the cleaning lady has emptied my chair side wastebasket, but I will dip into my less than fantastic memory and see if I can pull out some of your request.

First off, the Oliver parts that were advertised weren't anything special. Kind of like what you would find in the fence row, after you pulled out the rusty old picker, and this stuff just fell off. I did buy an underseat row crop toolbox with a nice lid but no springs, $12.50 though.

The NF 1600 was OK, and sold first. $4100. Somebody said it wasn't the right shade of Oliver green but I couldn't tell in the sun.
The Deutz with the Dunham loader did about $6100. It smoked some, but what Deutz doesn't?
The restored 77 was all painted up but it had been used to work with a little. It went to a collector from Grant, at $3800! Kind of a sleeper I thought, and overpriced. But, at least the seller was happy!
The painted up 60 with the welded, non-leaking block brought either $1600 or $1700.
The Ferguson was just a Ferguson, but """ they said""" it had been overhauled 3 years ago. It was the right shade of drab Ferguson gray, and brought $2100.

The #5 picker brought $550, and the #18 7ft cut combine with the clover seed screens brought either $1600 or $1800. I was talking to Dale Tibbe as it sold, and didn't pay close enough attention.

All you missed was a nice day off to visit with about 20 Oliver collectors and 50 retired farmers.

I sold a front weight to a guy and he came over home and hauled it away, so I had a good day too!

I wish I'd been there, but to be honest,I was so preoccupied with spraying corn that I 100% forgot about it.
I'd like to go to that one that Sykora has with that White 2-70 FWA,the 2-110 and 2-155 on it,but that's way up north and I know right now I won't make it.

I saw that sale a couple of weeks ago. My chemo treatments keep me kind of down so the sale in Big Rapids was plenty far away for me on Saturday. I only looked at Scott's website once, but nothing jumped out at me, that screamed "Take me home", so we shall see if I can manage it. Like you said, it is a far piece away, just to go look, and an absentee bid without a test drive is foolhardy.
