Had the steering go last fall on my super 55. Sent the steering to Kent Gordon and had it rebuilt. Got it in last fall and the tractor wouldn't start. Thought I had tested everything but today with help from my uncle we found that a line to the key disconnected. A swig of gas later and it was running. I had plowed the garden fields with another color tractor but wanted to drag up the fields so I used the now operational Oliver 55. It did the job but sputtered and hichuped something bad. I am wondering how the carb is adjusted. Can anyone let me know how to adjust this so it would run smoother?
Alos I thought I had oil pressure as it read 15 or so on the guage. I had to remove wires on the gauge when the steering was removed. However it looked like the guage never moved. Is there something I may have done that caused this not to show pressure correctly? How do I test that I am getting pressure and it's working?
Last thing is the tach. The tach is almost peged when the tractor is running. WHy? There is only the one cable. The meter runs but the needle is peged to the high end. Shut it off and the needle goes to 0 like it should. How did I do something to this? What fixes it?
By the way steering is real easy and that works like it should have. That's fixed.
