2-105 brakes,I need some help

I took all the bolts out, unhooked the lines, unhooked the parking brake cable, the bottom of the cover will come out about a half inch, the top won't separate only about wide enough to get a narrow screwdriver in the gap.
I popped the cap off and took the parking brake adjuster bolt out, took the bleeder out,no change. It doesn't feel like I missed a bolt,it's spongy,it just won't come any farther. I graduated from screwdrivers to tire irons, but didn't want to force it. Does that elbow that the brake line screws in to have to come out?

My library of shop manuals jumps right from a 1950 to a 2-135,so I've got nothing for this kind of brakes.

Am I just trying to pull the piston out and need to keep working it?

It's the left side behind the pump and the wheels are set all the way in,so it's no walk in the park to work on.

Might be next week before I try again. Judging from the other post from the other day,I'm thinking maybe the piston has pushed out hasn't it? I tried to call Jerry to order a new pair of discs, but I think it was a little late in the day when I called. I'll try again in the morning. As hard as it is just to get in there to work on it,I think I'd better replace everything while I'm in there.

Does it sound to you like the piston is pushed out and hanging up with the O-rings and not coming out? The other post with the symptoms of how it acted when it went,is farther down the page.

Very good chance piston pushed out of its bore, Just did ours it broke the center stem off the piston. It bound up the plates and floater plates on the two torque pins witch puts the outer cover in a bind. James

Those covers like too hang up on dowels at top and bottom. Spray them with lube, work on and off what you can. Air chisel works good if you have one that gets fat quick. Nothing holds but bolts and linkage. You will win eventually. AL

Ya,like I said,it doesn't feel solid, just spongy and rubbery. I thought about the air chisel if I can get it up in there somehow. Things are pretty close in there. I'll try to get some discs ordered this morning.

I just didn't want to get horsing on something too hard and then find out the hard way that the elbow went all the way in to something on the inside or something. I've done too many stupid things like that and spent more time and money fixing the foolish damage than it took to fix the original problem.

I just completed overhauling the same brake assembly on the left side so understand what you mean by being an inconvenient spot to work. I removed the hydraulic pressure hose at the pressure control valve below the hydraulic pump to gain extra room/access.
Sounds like the cover is binding on the dowels since the four internal release springs should tend to push the cover off if nothing is messed up inside or (just sticky-most likely). If the cover is out further on the bottom than the top try putting a couple of the cover screws back in at the bottom and draw the cover back into alignment so it isn't binding on the top dowel. Then continue to alternately pry the cover out at the top and bottom while loosening the bottom bolts as you progress.
It will come off once it has moved out about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Take care as it is fairly heavy and you are not in a good position when it comes off the dowels to catch it when it drops. The reason for leaving a couple bolts in so it doesn't fall on you!
You might want to wait till you get everything apart before ordering parts to see exactly what is needed. Nice to know what needs replacing and what doesn't. Saves $'s.
Hope this suggestion helps!
