Putting new style fuel filter on 1555

Has anybody put the newer style square glass fuel filter on in place of the older canister filter, I want to update my 1555 to this style, I would appreciate any info and pics you may have, thanks again.

Yep,, did this very thing several years ago. Worked fine.. Cleaned up whole system.

You'll need the bracket,filter base, clamp and fuel lines and fittings.They're found in white 2-70 parts book. BUT, I don't know if your block is tapped for that filter base. I know the 1655 block is because mine has it. I would look at a 283 block and compare it to yours.

bv you might want to check on the filters you get-- they make 5 micron and 10 micron. memory is bad--it has been 30 years since I sold filters, I think the 5 micron were designed to have a pump in the system to push fuel thru them, Some one else whose memory is better then mine post back. I don't want you to get stuck out away from home with a plugged 5 micron filter when a 10 would have been better.
