500 body parts (sigh)

I went to the body shop that's had my hood,grill and fenders for my Oliver 500 since a year ago last February. He still hadn't touched them. I took them to another shop that does quite a few tractors. He said he'd see what he could do with them. He said he couldn't give me a price,he'd just have to keep track of his hours.
They're featuring Oliver at the Blanchard show in August. I'd sure like to have it ready for that show. We'll see if anything happens this time. I might have to buy a MIG welder and end up with a tractor that looks like I did it.
 
Sounds like my luck. Took some sheet metal to a body shop and it looked like I did it! 😳 Hope you get it done in time? By the way, do you need any manuals for the 500. If you do, send me an e-mail. Thanks Mike
 
I know the frustration that you have been going through, but I've had a bit of better luck recently. I've got some Cockshutt 30 body panels that have seen better days. After talking to about a dozen body shop owners, ("We only do insurance work, blah, blah..."), I found a guy that is a retired body shop man who has done some work for me and currently has some of my parts. I've gotten some of his work back and it's nice to see he really knows what he's doing. He's in his mid-70s and he can't be rushed, but at least he will work on it.
 
I think they had their Summer Show at Oakley one year didn't they? I know they had a booth set up there anyway,because I bought a sweatshirt and joined the club.
 


Ya. I will do that, even though I belong to the GFTCC. LOL The last time my Grandson and I brought something other than a green and yellow tractor, two guys turned their backs to us when they found out what we brought. They didn't want to talk to us any more. LOL Grandson said then we should bring some more colors. I think were going to bring his Oliver 60 this year too, whether we got it painted or not.
 
I'm hoping to get a couple of them up there. If those danged Danes won't associate with you,I will. LOL
