Setting 1855 to 30 centers

When you set the tires to 30" centers do measure from center of the tractor to the center of the tire or to
the outside of the tire? Also a picture of a 4 digit oliver set on 30" centers would help. Thanks

Pretty sure it's center too center, so the tires would be 60"apart on center.

Think here of the two extremes - very narrow tyres and very, very wide tyres. Two entirely different results? The narrow would be closest because at zero width you would be measuring centre to centre!

I'd have to measure, but you wanted a picture. My 1850 is set for 30s. The 2-105 is too. Both have power adjust. The tires are pretty close to the fenders on both of them.

Let's do the math on this though. Half of 30 is 15,so each row is going to be 15 inches from the tractor centerline. So to be centered between the rows, the center of the tire needs to be 30 inches from the center of the tractor doesn't it? That would be 60 inches center to center on the tires if my thinking's right.

That's what I thought I didn't want to get them on wrong and have to redo them. But after seeing your pictures I think ill have to move the center of the wheel out on the far rib on the rim. Thanks for the pictures.

When you measure it now what is your center to center distance? How far can you slide the wheel in yet? I take it you don't have an operators manual as wheel spacing is explained in detail in the operators manual. Does that engine block have an oil cooler?

I realized that after I looked at the post, sorry. The principal should be the same. The fenders have to be in as far as possible and the hubs on the outside as others have shown.
