Correct striping on 77 hood

I'd be hesitant to tell you that they even had one. If I was painting it,it would end at the back of the radiator cap door.
Dad had a 49 66 when I was a kid and that didn't have a yellow hood stripe. I've seen literature where they had it,but I think they were few and far between in the real world.

The 1950 77 that my Grandpa bought new has the stripe all the way to the end of the raised center, but the 1951 66 doesn't.

I dont know the elusive serial number or date at which that yellow stripe was dropped. I can tell you that I currently own 3 tractors that have the yellow stripe on the hood. The first one is a 1949 88 rowcrop, the second is an early 88 rowcrop parts tractor, the third one is a real early 77 rowcrop(serial tag is gone)--it has the cast headlight brackets & the LH pto lever. I have owned 2 others but sold them. A 1948 77 standard & a 1948 88 fleetline standard--both had the yellow stripe. All of these tractors appeared to have original paint. From what i've seen, if it's a 48 model year fleetline, I think it should have the stripe. I own other 1949 models & they dont have the stripe. Maybe the hood on me 88 was replaced at one time? Just my 2cents.

Thanks for the "clarity". I painted the tractor last week. The stripe goes all the way back the raised portion now.
