I am just about ready to strip the paint off the tub. I want to take the front axle assembly out of the large casting (pedestal?) at the front that extends down to the axle assembly. I am not sure what this cast assembly is called. The axle assembly has a long bolt going from the front to the back of the assembly. When I took the bolt out, I was hoping the assembly would drop down off a splined shaft or something like that. No luck, the bolt doesn't seem to be holding anything on. How do I drop this thing out so I can clean it up prior to painting?
