Disc mower on Oliver

I just purchased a 9" disc mower though I had checked it all out but got it put on my 2-105 an am wondering if my quick hitch can hold that amount of weight on the left side of the tractor because of the inbalance of the disc mower. Is anyone have a disc mower mounted on a Oliver an using the quick hitch Thanks in advance Johnnie

Used a 2-105 without the quick hitch, mower wouldn't work with it, for several years, mine has the cat 2-3 hitch if that makes any difference. Always worried about the pin and latch on the end of the draft arm but never broke anything. But used a little respect on rough ground when mowing or just crossing the field, or roading it.

Thanks for the reply olwhda that is what I was referring to the cat 2/3 hitch that comes with the tractor not a add on quick hitch what size was your disc mower

We had a 7' or 8', don't remember, on a 1655 when I was in highschool. I probably wasn't the nicest to it back then, and it held up just fine. I think a lot of people have problems with cheap and/or incorrect balls and not really the fault of the Oliver 3-point latch. We did also use it on the 2-105, but not as much.

If in doubt,wrap a wire good and tight around the latch. The part that pulls up to trip the claw.

Been using a Kuhn GMD310,, 10'4" for two years on 1655 w/ quick hitch.. Works fine..
