Oliver 1600 front end loader weight capacity

I have an oliver 1600 that already has a front end loader. I was curious how much weight the front end can handle? My bales weight about 1500. Wasn't sure if the front end could handle that much or not.

Thanks!

I have lifted way more than 1500 pounds with both an 1800 and a 1655 with farmhand 238 loaders and also with 77s and 88s with farmhand F11 loaders. the key to not causing damage is to not go over to rough of ground and to lower the loads slowly, also make sure your pivot pin bushing is tight as well as your yoke nuts. In 40 years of loading big bales and other heavy lifting I snapped a cast front end on a 77 once and broke one spindle on the 1800.

How wide do you have the front end set out? How about the front wheels? Original or some aftermarket deep dish?
I've got a loader on mine, the front end is set wider than it should be. I've broken spindles, broke the center out of rims, broke a steering arm,all with 900 pound bales.

It's the wide front end. As far as I know it's factory specs. Looking at it the spindles looked like the weak link in the whole deal. Should a guy just try it and see??

All you have to loose is a $150 spindle. I'd keep it low and slow. I wouldn't be as concerned if the front end is set in for narrow rows.

I have been feeding hay in my hay saver bales for the last couple months and now it doesn't seem to be able to pick up the bales very easy. Does anyone know how to turn up the pump? I heard some things about some screws but would that do it?
