Co-op 4

Auction coming up. A Co-op 4 that sat in the hedgerow for years is in the auction. Always wanted one, but mostly want a project that my son and I can do together. Is parts available? A good place to get parts. Was there different engines in these tractors? My first thought is that the engine is froze up sitting that long. I'm going to see it next week. Any help and information is greatly appreciated. Any thing that I should be looking for when I look at it.

E 4 Coops either ran a 230 Buda gas or diesel. Search the archives and you can get Phil Heisey's info. Irv Buttray is also another source. Mike Lepard in New York is a source for Buda pistons and repair. I do have Mikes contact info. Good luck.

I'm working on getting mine back in the field after an engine rebuild. Was FIL's tractor and I still use it. Post your questions, you'll get plenty of help.

The first picture is my Cockshutt 40 Deluxe..The Buda 230 gas was totally shot and I couldn't find one close by....So I put a nice running 262 Gleaner combine engine in it that I found for $400...

The second picture is a nice E-4 Coop gas that I purchased in central Kansas in 2012....I would have liked to have had the E-3 but it had already been sold..

Some good parts sources have already been mentioned..Good luck..

I got cylinder kits and bearings from Advantage through Rick's Ag Parts. The bearings are rebranded F-Ms.
