Rebuild Kits for Waukesha Engines

I'm getting ready to do an engine rebuild on the 1550 diesel. I'm looking for some first hand experiences of which rebuild kits are good. Thanks!

My favorite machine shop got me a Reliance kit for an 88 which up to that point I had never heard of. What I found on the web looked petty good to me.

The kit and parts looked really good and seemed to fit pretty well. Having run an engine machine shop in the past I feel like I have better measuring
tools.

I put them in and they went in good but the o-rings for the sleeves seemed like they had to stretch more than I've seen but they're in there and sealing.

The other issue was the rear cork seal wouldn't start on. I looked and it had a burr on the inside which I had to file out after I had soaked it in oil. Your
1550 should have a lip seal so this wouldn't apply.

It's was fired up recently and the tractor had some other issues to fix so it hasn't really been worked yet. It supposed to go on a mower but if you knew
these people it will get tested.
