1850 hyd restrictor valve adjustment

I have an 1850 diesel with hydra-lectric. My field cultivator bounces when I lower it so I thought I would adjust the restrictor valve per the book. The book shows a lock nut with a threaded rod with a slot in the end to be turned with a screwdriver. In the pictures you will see that I have some hex head pieces where the threaded rod is supposed to be. Are these pieces just covering the rod to save the threads or do I have something different? The hose goes to my power beyond and I think I should be adjusting the hex head on the left side above the hose for restricting flow. Is this correct?

You are correct that the one above the hose is the restrictor adjustment for the left side. The long hex cover replaced the jam nut on the later systems, the slotted screw is covered by the hex cap. To get the fastest lowering speed with out bouncing, have the engine running at the normal speed you would use when lowering the implement. Recessed screw should be all the way in (snug) for double acting cylinders and backed out a couple of turns for single acting cylinders, should be covered in the operators manual.
