1655 throttle 3 spd

is there a spacer that is supposed to be between the throttle and 3spd levers? mine are to tight and with every shift of the over/under it moves the throttle. it had been apart some time so I probably forgot to put something back where it should have been. thanks in advance

Most likely throttle lever has rust on the shaft the runs through the tube over/under lever is attached to. Spray it down with pb blaster between the levers or remove the throttle lever from the shaft and then spray. You could also tighten up the friction disc under the fuel tank at the pivot. This will help alleviate some of the drag caused by the shafts.
