Replacing my 1550 hydraulic pump. I am assuming that ive got to remove the 3 point hitch lift cylinder to remove the hydraulic pump and install a new one?? What should I expect when pulling the cylinder out if needed?? O-Rings? Balls and springs?? I have the whole hydraulic system lifted off the tractor right now. and just want to make sure. Thanks

Try to source a new one by the numbers on the pump (I think its a Cessna, IIRC). I had to replace mine, and found one through aftermarket for about half of what Agco wanted. Same exact pump, but a mark-up or two less in price.

I know Coshoo,,,,Agco has way marked up the Char Lynn orbitrols for 00-50 and 55 series power steering as well, got mine brand new for half the price through a surplus supplier. a little footwork and research can save you a few hundred dollars.

get the drive pinion out of a 1650 so then you can put in the 16-17-1850 pump which is the same in those 3 models but bigger than the 1550 pump, I did it to mine some years back and was not a problem to do.
