1850 Gas - thoughts needed

Need some independent thinkers to give me some guidance on the value of an 1850 gas. This tractor is mechanically sound. Starts and runs good. Tranny is quiet and shifts into each gear. Hydra Power works but the shift mechanism binds. Sheet metal is straight. Hydraulics and pto work. Front and rear weights. No leaks.
On the other side, it has a "30 foot" paint job...meaning it looks good at 30 feet. Decals are not correct. Gauges are miss matched. Lights do not work. Tires are mismatched. One rear and one front are shot. The other two are good. Missing the battery cover. Tilt steering does not work...pedal broke off. Brakes need replacing.

I know what they are asking for the tractor and it seems high for one that is far from perfect.

What do you think this would be worth?

I think you'd be hard pressed to get $1500 for it unless somebody needed some expensive parts.

You can probably buy one that's all ready to go for under 5. I know they get a bad rap, but I started farming with one and still have it. Good ole strong tractor, just loves gas.

An implement dealer near me had one a couple years ago. Sat there quite awhile, finally I inquired about it, looked sharp wide front but only had the two - speed hydra power. Said they replaced the camshaft in the engine too. $3500 is what they were asking. I kind of always wanted one just to have as a backup and probably put a loader on.

I have one with a loader. I wouldn't sell mine for much less than $10,000. I'm always looking at what's for sale and based on what's for sale mine is worth every penny. I have done some work on it to make it work as it should, not much. I've added 2 implements, an 8' Hydraulic back blade (very nice) and a ditch bank brush cutter. Needs a little work and some paint but I expect it to be very nice.

It is a tractor that can do what I ask it to do. Did blow a cylinder on the loader clearing some ground in a woods for a barn. It was a pleasure getting it rebuilt and then hauling a large ash tree out of the woods with it.

The gas model isn't as desired as the diesel, but I couldn't say why. The diesel model requires a lot more servicing, expensive as well.

Look at what is being sold, the 1850 is more than what most are selling for well over 10,000.

3 different olivers forsale local, least expensive is a smaller one for around 5000, there is an 1850, just the tractor, I think it's 7500. Just looked at a JD 4020, same tractor as the 1850, $11,000. Lima/Findlay (ohio) craigslist has several different olivers, go there type in oliver. An 1800T is on there for 25,000
