1955 Pulling Weight Class

What weight class can a 1955/1855 get down to by changing to presses center wheels with 18.4 x 38 rear tires and possibly a tricycle front end. I'm not talking about completely stripping it, just a reasonable diet. What classes have you made t down to or know someone that has?

Thank you!

I got mine down to 12000 with the short wheelbase axle and loaded 18.4-34 rears without doing much stripping, but now have to pull in the 15000 cause we went up to 38 inch rears and added fender tanks. You should be able to get yours down to 10000 fairly easily going with a narrow front and stamped steel wheels.

Our 2-105 with cab weighs 11,500 with cast centers and wide front. Our 1850 with tins and narrow front will weigh about 8200. These tractors still are field ready otherwise. Hopefully that will give you a better perspective. I would suspect you should get close to 9000 with it.

Ours weighed 9500 lb with a wide front, 38" radials, cast centers, fenders, 3 pt arms removed, and the cast grill had been replaced with a wooden copy. 8500 lb should be attainable with a narrow front, steel wheels and fenders removed.
