Oliver 1550 PTO Covers

I have a 1550 gas and a 1550 diesel they have very different looking PTO covers.
The diesel has what I'd call a 'round' looking cover about like my 1650 has and the
gas has a more 'square' cover.Took the cover off the square one and the it has two
discs that are worn out.I also have a complete used unit I bought off ebay that was
supposed to fit a 1550 with multiple discs nothing like the one I took off the gas.Is
the one with the 'round' cover like the one I bought?

"square" cover (bolts up from bottom)is for standard 540 only PTO, "round" cover (bolts from back) is for dual speed 540 & 1000.

The 1550 could be order with 2 different PTO units. The single speed unit which has the dry clutch and the dual speed unit which has the multiple disk wet clutch. Also the dual speed unit may not have the one gear in the unit that allows you to change it to a 540 or 1000 ROM unit. Did you see my note on the injection pump? What do you want to do with the PTO? The dry disk fit anything from a 1947 88 on up. More questions?

I found a pump I can borrow to see if thats the problem so I'll keep you posted.
