1610 loader at full lift cylinder extension not returning

It happened to me again last night, tried to use the loader to get something out of the back of the truck and hit full extension of the lift cylinders and the tractor would not retract the cylinders under it's own power. I suspect hydraulic issues on the tractor (1650 gas) but not sure where to start.

I don't know the solution, but I don't think its the tractor. I used to have one that did the same thing. The cylinder would hydro lock itself, and you would have to crack a hose and push it a little by hand to get it started again.

Are you plugged in to the tractor remotes? Pioneer couplers? If so,probably one of the male tips.

Tractor remotes. Will probably set up with power beyond at some point to free up remotes. I'm going to redo all the hydraulic hoses and tubes on the loader in the next few weeks. Will replace the Pioneer couplers at that point.

Just another thought. Are they two way cylinders or one way? If they're one way, you're most likely sucking the reservoir dry so the valve won't release.

Double acting cylinders. Was acting up on me again tonight mid-stroke. I'm going to get some tubes made this week, order up some new adapters and bring my hose crimper home this weekend. Hoping to get rid of all the pipe thread and switch to JIC or face seal.

Couplers or spool valves are your problem, it seems. Change your lines over for bucket and lift, to see whether the problem stays with the coupler or valve?
