1550 3 point update

Today I had a few minutes and started the 1550. Started to mess with a the 3 point and thought I saw it move. Here is todays status report. With rpm well above an idle the 3 point will go up and down. It goes down about even with the hitch height and kind of has a bit of a surge up and down slightly. If I decrease the rpm to an idle the 3 point seems to go down further, I suspect as far as it ever will which is plenty low enough. So after running it up and down a number of times I couldn't get it to fail. I guess I'm glad it's working but have no idea what caused it to start working. It's done this before so I don't feel like I'm out of the woods yet. So with the additional information does that help with the problem diagnosis?

Does it stay up when you shut the tractor off? If it does it sounds like your hydraulic pump is weak since on an Oliver hydraulic system it requires pressure to let the three point down . If you have a three thousand pound gauge I would plug it into a remote and see how much pressure you have at different rpms.

Before you go tearing into the tractor to get to the pump, check the spring on the pressure relief valve. They do get weak.
