1655 fwa tie rod fix

It's been many years, but I am finally, happily back in the saddle of an Oliver. I came across a clean 1655 with fwa and am in the process of bringing it home. The only immediate attention it needs is the steering tie-rod - the ball joints are popped out of both ends, and one ball joint (stud) MIA. Being fwa, the tie-rod is unique, a hefty 1 1/2 dia (approx) single piece, with the ends either forged in or welded on and, not surprisingly, unavailable through AGCO. So I am wondering if anyone has discovered a suitably sized ball joint/tie-rod end replacement for welding on, or know of a used complete tie-rod in good condition? And two more very basic (borderline stupid) questions - does the fwa lever go in or out to disengage, and what is the correct front tire size with 18.4-34 rears? I think the info I've seen states 13.9-24, but there are 14.9-24's on now. Any assistance is greatly appreciated, thank you!

You are kinda on your own on the tie end, check out Luke's Link and see if you could make something work. In a former life, I had a 2150 fwa, down was disengaged and up was engaged. Can't help with the tires. Chris

Pump recon makes them. I got a set for my 1855 a few years ago. Not cheap but have stood up quite well. Eight one six 252 0791.

Give these guys a call, the deal in Clark axle parts:

Otherwise, scroll down to page 16 in this catalog and see if you can match it up:

.Don't know if it makes a difference but my 1950 fwa has has 14.9 -24 front and 23.1-34 rears.Depending on brand there might be a height difference between 13.9 and 14.9's.

Interesting - my tie rod does not have these, nor do they appear in AGCO's parts list or drawing. My tie rod has a plastic bushing in each end that the stud/ball pivots
in. This bushing also does not appear in the AGCO parts list/dwg! I can see how these could be used with a straight end (vs. ball) style stud, did Oliver/Clark produce
more than one style?
