Oliver Crawler Inquiry

Good Morning, first time poster over here on the Oliver forum. I have been tinkering around with various makes and models of old farm tractors for awhile, and learned this past weekend I may be coming into an Oliver crawler. I believe it to be an OC-3, but looking around on the web has me second guessing. I will try to get pics as soon as I can (when the snow melts). The first question I have would be are there any tell tale things to tell an OC-3 from an HG quickly? Thanks in advance for any help. It is appreciated.

So, I looked yesterday evening and it does have a "round hole" front sprocket. It also has PTO and Belt Pulley. Next step is trying to determine year / engine. I looked for a serial tag and could not locate one right off. Any suggestions for finding out this information?

Sounds like you have an HG. There were 3 different IX engines used. The very early ones used the IXA engine which had a 3 inch bore. They were replaced by the IXK which had a 3.125 inch bore and the later ones had the 3.250 inch bore IXB engine. The model and serial number of the engine is stamped in a flat spot near the top of the block on the left side of the block. The date the block was cast is also cast into the block near the magneto mount. All these engines were built by Hercules.
