1850 oliver engine swap

Supper99 did. I used one out of a White 8700. You'll have to pretty much strip it down to the block and head. You'll need a pipe plug and soft plug to change the oil filter base. Be sure to change the plumbing for the oil pump to get the oil to the other side of the block for the relocated filter base. I had to change the injector lines to get the linkage to run down through it correctly. I had to change the throttle plate and shut off plate on the injector pump too.

The rear side cover has to be changed to get the oil filler neck that you'll need,so change the tappet cover too since the one on the combine engine probably has a filler cap. The turbo will be the problem. If you don't need the extra horses,I'd take it off and go with the original tractor manifold so the exhaust goes out through the hood in the right place.

I did it 10 years or so ago, still using it. Go to the archives tab at the top of the page and type in super99. Scroll down thru all the posts and you will find pictures and text of the swap. If you have problems finding it, ask on here, someone will walk you thru it. E-mail is open. Chris

Is it a gas or diesel? I have a gas 1850 and looking to put a diesel motor in it but it is going to be a 310 waukasha.

Something else I remembered. The bolt holes where the combine motor mounts were. Those holes went all the way through on mine and I didn't know it. I got it all in and started it and it started leaking oil. It was quite a feat to get those bolts down between the frame and block to get them in there,so put some bolts in those holes before you drop it down in there.
