I'm in the process of getting this tractor running. It has been setting for 4 years and had a fuel problem when the previous owner parked it. Drained the old fuel out of it and found a very dirty fuel tank with a sticky tar-like coating. Experimented and found out that gasket remover dissolved it for the most part.
Moved on down steam and took the lift pump apart. Found one pump disc had come out of its hole and a lot of crud. I noticed there is no filter protecting the lift pump. Has any one put a inline filter in between the tank and the lift pump or was there supposed to be a sediment bowl at the tank? From what I have learned so far it looks like the bowl was on gas engine tractors only?
