I receive the Farm Show Magazine and they have a best and worst column where people write opinions on items. There is one in the latest issue from Chuck Thomas of Liberty Nebraska. He says " I own three 1968 to 1970 Oliver 1650 diesel tractors and the engine blew on every one. I can't find any replacements for them so now all these tractors just sit. They look great, but we can't use them."

Seems I read about guys re-powering these tractors with other engines. I would think this guy would like some info, or maybe he would like to sell the tractors to someone who would like to take it on. Just seems a shame for them to sit.

Maybe should have left the screwdriver in the toolbox. It doesn't seem to matter what color the tractor somebody has to figure a way to abuse a tractor. I had an allis and there noted for bad gears mine never had a problem i was carefully and didn't push it.

He's blown up THREE 1650's??????????? What's he doing? Running a 50/50 mix of molasses and blow sand in the crankcase? Sounds like severely abused tractors. I'd offer him about 50% under scrap price for the lot and hope I could scrounge enough good parts to build one good tractor. Sheesh!

I wish he was closer. I've got a 1600 gas engine that could be put together. I'm looking for a small frame four digit for a custom project that I've been wanting to build.
