1650 Gas Vapor Lock?

Was plowing with 1650 gas and working it fairly hard. Runs great at 2100+ rpm, but after a couple of hours the engine starts to stall. Air temp is in 50s F and temp gauge is running in normal range, but would things be getting hot enough under the hood to be causing vapor lock? Nothing in gas tank to be blocking intake, sediment bowl is clean, gas line clean. (I'm using the hydrapower as well which would be adding more heat below gas tank.) Thanks!

My neighbor has a 1555, and pulls the auger good, until the gasoline tank gets about 1/2 empty, then it just cant hack it, until the tank is refilled too the top, and then it's ok again. Would this be the same condition.

First two things I'd try. When it starts acting up loosen the fuel cap to see if it's not venting properly. Second, if equipped with an inline fuel filter replace it.

I have seen a lot of guy take the side panels off when working an Oliver gas hard to keep the fuel tank cooler. You may need to make a shield to go between the manifold and the gas tank to block the heat from the gas tank. I've seen lots of things done to help keep the gas tank cool on these Oliver tractors. Mine 1550 does the same thing almost can tell how much gas its got by how it's running.
Wondering if it's regular gas or corn squeezed gas had a Ford 5000 that you could only use regular gas in it or it vapor lock

i've found on my 1650 that it's a combo of a few things. First is aftermarket exhaust manifold is thinner and radiates more heat under hood. Second is fuel made today vaporizes at lower temp. I put a heat shield on engine side of gas tank and that helped. Then i installed low pressure electric fuel pump ( 40 bucks ) that solved all problems.

I keep the manifold side panel on my 1550 gas off all the time in the Summer to keep the ethanol
polluted fuel from boiling the alcohol off,had a D10 AC I used to have to take off the hood to keep it running like it should in hot weather. Also running the fuel line out away from the block helps too.

I had the same trouble with an 1850 back when that was my main tractor. The only way to get through the day while doing tillage was to take off the side panels. This took care of the vapor lock problem.
