Looking at a potential project tractor. Here's my question. What needs to be done to add hydraulic remotes to this tractor? I could use elements
of the pto driven pump, tank and valves from the loader, but I was wondering if there was a more "factory" way to do this.

Why not find a salvage tractor with a factory hydraulic unit? Do you need three point? If not a unit off of a 1650/55 or a 1550 wheatlaqnd will work If not find a salvage unit off of a rowcrop tractor and yes one off of a 1600 will also work.

Food for thought but that tractor is worth a lot more stock than it is if you go cobbling it up. Believe I saw one at auction a year or so brought north of $15k.
