1600 hydraulic pump

My neighbor had dropped the hydraulic pump off at local AGCO dealer about a month ago to see if they could fix it. They told him he needs a new one but he doesn't want to spend that much. I have a parted out 1650 that still has hydraulic pump and housing and still has oil in it. I'm not sure of pump condition and was thinking I could test it. How much power do I need? I was thinking about the Hydra power test and using a 1/2 drill and a piece of radiator hose. Next question is will they interchange? The 1650 I think is a 1967 and in the I&T manual shows vane type pump or gear pump. This was a $2000 1600 that didn't run and got it running and they put 40 hours on it and pump started leaking. Everything was working up to that time. Thanks , Greg

Save yourself a lot of trouble. Call Jerry at Ag Parts First. Those pumps are available new for $385 vs $2200 from Agco. No sense messing with used one at all when new ones can be had for that price.
