White 2-105 Brakes Leaking oil

Oil is leaking from both brake housings on my 2-105.

I noticed a Brake Rebuild Kit listed for an Oliver/White 2-105/1855/1955 8 inch on ebay.

Is this what I need to repair this problem?

I do have an IT repair manual but it doesn't give a lot of information about leaking brakes.

All comments are appreciated. Thank you

As long add that's the only problem. Chances are the brake discs are soaked in oil. How bad of a leak is it? Last year I did the brakes on our 1855 and one of the discs delaminated, causing the piston to bind and it broke the little nub off the end. Ended up replacing just about everything inside that side.

Thanks Donovan

Well when the tractor sits oil drips from one or both brake housings creating a puddle on the ground after several days. So I would say it is leaking quite bad. I am sure it will also be leaking during operation.

Just got this tractor so hasn't done anything but move around the yard.

Any suggestions on disassembly and repair?

Thanks

Wes

First of all the brakes can leak both hydraulic oil and transmission oil. You need to determine which one or if both of the fluids are leaking. You need to get a couple of plugs and block off the brake lines at the brakes and then remove the brakes and see if the leak goes away.

asy fix.
Probably worn brake piston O ring seals.
Big 8" or so dia O ring on the piston OD and a little 1" one in the center, any hydr shop will have them.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will investigate further before ordering any parts and then go with what is needed.

I appreciate your advice.

Bad is when there is a steady stream coming out when holding the pedal. That's definitely hydraulic. Ours had both the seal on the shaft leaking on one side, and broken piston and some other messed up parts on the other side. I got some good used parts including a set of clean discs that were in really good shape and it's been good since.

You say yours drips even when sitting so I'd be inclined to think the seal is shot on the shaft. Either way, you may be replacing the brake discs if they're oil soaked.

Thank you for the advice and comments. It has been raining steadily over the past few days so won't attempt to investigate till things firm up. Still some bales to haul in but I agree could be trans fluid & hyd fluid combined so best plan on a complete overhaul of the axle seal and brake assembly.

I am sure I will have other questions as things progress.

Thanks very much

Wes
