After many delays such as 2 deaths in the family and major vehicle repairs, I got to spend a few days on the crawler. The machine is made from a basic 1939 HG with later bodywork, a Wareloader and a so-far unidentified toolbar added.
As the hand start location had been replaced by a hydraulic pump, that shaft also carries a toothed-belt pully linked to one below that the hand crank will engage. It was poorly executed, had stripped keyways, worn shafts and themloose upper pulley threw sparks and nearly ruined the radiator. and took a bit of machine work to sort out.
The gas tank leaked. It could not be removed easily as the seat base had been welded in place. I cut the welds, pulled itand sloshed it with Red Kote.
I built a trailer hitch reciever and have already used it to move a trailer with 3 flats and a load of steel runway mat throigh the trees to behind the shop.
Next on the list is to build a ripper to cut deep and sever large roots, and to cut off the bucket blade that was intalled up-side down on top of the bucket requiring the bucket to be at a 45 degree angle to cut, and installing one on the bottom where it belongs. I should be able to start that in about a week
