cockshutt 560 motor swap

I'm fairly sure that if you use a rear plate from a Cockshutt 40 or 50 it will bolt right up. The gas engine components are different than the diesel engine so the plate, flywheel and starter will have to match

probably because a 262 Buda is a better motor than a 4 cyl. Perkins! More power, much easier to to work on, waaaaay easier to get parts for and a lot cheaper to buy parts for. And they don't make your hands hurt after a day of holding that vibrating steering wheel!!!!!!!!!! Is that enough reasons?

I know where there is one with a 354 Perkins. I always thought a 560 with a 318 Perkins would be a nice tractor. Turbo it if you want to.

no. for 1 I would never trade a diesel for a gas and 2 never liked buda , think perkins is a much better engine. I do like the 354 idea though! to each their own.

I like J's idea of a 4.318 but I have to say my 4.270 in my 560 has never let me down. It's been the best Tractor I have owned. Even when I had it turned up for years to 63 hp. and had a 8 in. orange flame coming out the muffler pulling a Oliver semi mounted 4-16 plow she would keep on keeping on. It sips fuel also, I can plow for 10 hours and use just a little over 1/2 a tank! I did find a place in Australia to get a major over haul kit for around $1800 including the $380 shipping.
