1550 hydraulic filter

Does a 1550 Cockshutt have a hydraulic filter? When I work my hydraulics I hear a whine, similar to the sound a pump makes when it's low on oil. The oil is up to correct level on the dipstick.

My fel is hooked up to the connections at the rear & is controlled by the levers by the seat.

thanks in advance

Johnny, here are a couple pics if they help. Is this the same tractor that had manual steering? Greg

The second photo looks like mine. I can't read it for some reason, but item 33 in the second photo looks like a cartridge filter. I even blew it up to 400%, & it's still blurry.

My wife was able to read it. her eyes are better than mine. Item 33 is a filter, I wonder if Napa will have it. Actually the loader whines more coming down than lifting & is pretty slow . It has good power, will lift the front end off the ground, & the loader doesn't creep. I left the bucket about 2' off the ground, & it stayed there all last winter.

Thanks got it.. Yes that's where I got the oil for the power steering from. mine is on the left side, looking from the rear, & looks like a 2 piece.

Thanks, that is clear.. The first thing I will try is replacing the element. hope Napa will have one or can get one. But can't try till Tuesday, because tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day here, & every thing will be closed..

Did you get an operators manual? I need to look but on the row crop models there is an adjustment to control your rate of drop. Do you have a pressure gauge? You may also be restricted in your add-on power steering unit.

Got one on order, I don't have a guage..but may be able to borrow one from a friend.. But I have the same whining for the loader. Incidentally if I'm driving, & lift the loader or turn the steering wheel, it changes the rpm's in the motor & I can actually feel the tractor wants to jerk,(for lack of a better word), & seems or feels like it slows a bit. Seems like when I work any of the hydraulics puts a noticeable strain on the motor. Even before I put the power steering on, I had the same results just working the loader..

Greg, I took off the filter body, & there is nothing underneath. It is missing the spring, retainer, & element. I imagine I can get the element somewhere, but do you have any idea where I might get the little spring & retainer?

Johnny, I found it in the AGCO parts book, H 210 spring 104 160 A retainer 104 159 AS element with O ring 165 442 AS element with O ring and E 1065 is just the O ring. That was under remote only depth stop external valve system in the AGCO parts book. com. I went in as guest user and put Oliver in the brand box and White 1550/1555 2-62 tractor when you scroll down. Hope this helps I needed a spring for the hydra power drive and the parts guy thought I was going to have a meltdown when he told me the little spring was over $16.00 and I said if it works it 's a cheap fix! Greg

.
Hi, Yes & thank you ever so much for all your help, & the link. I found out there is an Agco dealer in Saskatoon, 80 miles away. They have a filter element in stock, but had to order the retainer & spring. The spring was $12 & change, The retainer was the one that hurt, $53 pius change, Total was $92.. Oh well just one time purchase for spring & retainer. And at my age, (82), I probably won't need another filter. lol They said all parts should be here in 10 days.
Thanks again for your great assistance.
